Money donated to scholarship fund provides for one or more annual Molly Jean Featheringill scholarships of $1,000.00 presented to a selected graduating senior residing in area code 91916 and one or more Shirley Somes Scholarships of $500.00s.
Funds received when you donate to the general fund are used to benefit our local Descanso Library Branch. The Friends uses its general fund to pay for special programs and purchase computers, reading or viewing materials and supplies for our local branch library.
Donations of $25.00 or more to the Leaves of Knowledge Tree Project are used like donations to the general fund, and also provide a plaque to commemorate the person named by the donor. Plaques are permanently mounted on the Knowledge Tree located in the library's community room (see the tree below).
